Busan Foreign School

A student may take only one independent study course under the following conditions;

  1. A course conflict exists and the student is unable to take the required course.
  2. A schedule conflict exists and the students is unable to take the required course.

A contract must be written by the teacher and/or the academic counselor to include the following;

  1. A course outline must be written establishing goals and objectives with an appropriate timeline included.
  2. A method of evaluation must be defined and agreed to by students and teacher / academic counselor.

An independent study is not offered if a similar course, satisfying a similar requirement, is being offered and the student can fit it into his schedule.
The contract must be forwarded to the guidance counselor for verification of credits and to receive approval.

General Rules
BFS provides teachers/mentors for independent study courses.
Parents are responsible for paying the fees incurred while taking these courses.
Students may take only one of these courses per school year.
