BFS Habitat for Humanity Penny Drive

BFS Habitat LogoLast year’s Habitat for Humanity trip to Thailand was a great experience for BFS students and teachers involved. During our time there, our students, together with a group of Thai students, built two houses for families in need. We all learned the value of hard work and the reward of giving unconditionally to others.

Since last year’s project was such a success, students and teachers are both looking forward to this year’s trip. We have begun researching the possible locations available where we can make a difference again this year. Some of the countries we are looking at are Vietnam, Cambodia, India and Sri Lanka. We are currently waiting for Habitat for Humanity to confirm our project location and finalize the dates and cost.

We have also already begun fundraising in order to make the opportunity more affordable for those that choose to participate. A volleyball tournament was held at Haeundae beach on Saturday Sept. 19, raising $300 towards the trip! We are also now in the second week of our ongoing Penny Drive. Each homeroom has a jar where students are encouraged to contribute their spare change to the project. Please remind your son or daughter to bring their coins to school to support this fantastic cause!

Finally, as soon as we have confirmation of all the destination details, students will be able to sign up for the trip and get involved in further fundraising activities. BFS is looking forward to another successful, charitable trip with Habitat for Humanity. As always, we appreciate BFS parents’ generosity and support. With your help, we can do it!
