Ivy Hilgenfeld Mrs. Hilgenfeld received her Bachelor of Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education, Reading Recover, Child Development and Family Science from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, USA. Mrs. Hilgenfeld is a certified teacher in Nebraska. She previously worked as a Teacher/Counselor in an At-Risk Youth Camp in Florida and has taught military members in the Air Force. This will be her fourth year in South Korea, and her first at BFS. |

Amy Sauerwein Ms. Sauerwein received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Language Arts and Social Science from Western Illinois University. She has also received her TESL certification from Oxford Seminars. She previously worked as a teacher assistant in an elementary school in Colorado. Ms. Sauerwein has coached both boys and girls volleyball at the middle school and high school level. During the summers, she helped run volleyball camps at Western Illinois University and her High School in Belleville, Illinois. This will be her second year teaching in South Korea. |

Jillian Watts Miss Watts received her Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Studies, with a minor in music, from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, USA. She is a certified K-8 teacher in the state of New Hampshire. Previously, she has taught English in Daegu and also has taught at an IB international school in Istanbul, Turkey. She is excited for her third year at BFS in the grade 3 classroom. She has played an active role in organizing the annual school Christmas Pageant and Talent Show, as well as being the director of the Elementary Chorus Club. |

Katarina Safradin Ms. Safradin received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. She also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages from the same institution. She speaks German and Italian fluently and has a minor in Spanish. Ms. Safradin is a certified teacher in the province of Ontario, Canada. She has teaching experience in both Canada and Korea. This is her sixth year in the teaching profession. |

Nathan Payan Mr. Payan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan and his Elementary Education Teaching License and Master of Education degree from George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia. He has taught ESL in both South Korea and Japan and has taught fourth grade at an international school in Brazil and has lived in Korea for almost six years. This will be his first year teaching at BFS. He is very excited about getting the opportunity to work with this year’s new fifth grade class! |

Olga D. So Mrs. So is joining B.F.S. from Redondo Beach, California. Mrs. So holds Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Montessori Teaching Diploma. She has Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from the State of California from K-6 grades. She is a member of Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and Phi Delta Kappa International since 2006. She has taught diverse students in the U.S.A. and Korea. She is passionate about children, reading, traveling, and learning. |

Nona Kilgore Ms. Kilgore is starting her 17th year in education and her first year at BFS. In 1995, she graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory in Yerevan, Armenia, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education. She worked with U.S. Peace Corps volunteers for four years, assisting in opening English language resource centers and summer camps in Uzbekistan. Nona is a professional opera singer, having performed in Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, United States, Uzbekistan, and Egypt. She is an IB-PYP trained music teacher, having taught primary grade children for seven years in Tashkent International School, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and two years in Schutz American School, in Alexandria, Egypt. Nona speaks five languages, English, Armenian, Russian, Uzbek, and Italian. At BFS, Nona will teach elementary music, choral, and drama, as well as perform vocal coaching.
