A reminder to all students going on this year’s Habitat for Humanity trip that we depart in just over four weeks!!! The whole Habitat team is really excited about this opportunity to improve the living conditions for a family in Indonesia. In order to secure your position on the team, your final payment of 1, 000, 000 won must be made by NEXT TUESDAY, February 23^rd, 2010. If we do not receive this payment, we will be unable to secure your flight and therefore your spot on the trip, so please make sure that your money is sent to the school Habitat bank account on or before this date. I am also happy to arrange a receipt if you would like one. If you have any questions, please contact the school office or email Mrs. Crewe directly at tcrewe@bfs.or.kr.

Today’s meeting was about the final cost adjustment for the trip. After talking to the H4H organizers in Bali and Seoul the cost has been adjusted to a final one million won. Our trip will now include meals, flights, transportation, accommodation, a day of rest and relaxation plus the donation to the families for construction materials. The cost is higher from last year’s trip because of the increased distance and some mistakes made last year by the organizer that Mrs.Haddon was kind enough to help cover. Thank you Mrs.Haddon!!

The trip is coming up soon and we are getting excited. Be sure to check out the video from last year’s trip and think about how good this one will be!

Today’s meeting mentioned that needs for vaccinations for the trip. Also, though the airline will give us some travel insurance, extended personal insurance is also a good thing to have. Please bring your passports by Monday, January 18th at the latest. Finally the mid-point payment is due January 29th.

The next SAT will be held on Saturday, May 1st. All grade 11 students are strongly encouraged to register for the May 1 SAT or SAT Subject Test. Please see Mr. Saunders for more information about registering online.
