Busan Foreign School,
accredited by the Western Association of
Schools and Colleges (WASC), is located in
the beautiful Haeundae New Town area of
Busan. This area is one of the most
attractive in Korea as it provides
breathtaking mountain scenery, beautiful
sandy beaches, clean air, all the public
services and entertainment that are common
in North America, as well as a warm and
friendly population that makes everyone feel
at home.
Busan Foreign School¡¯s
mission is to ensure each student, from
nursery to grade 12, receives a world class
education in an international environment.
As a school community, we expect our
students to be well-rounded individuals with
critical thinking skills, productive work
habits, and possess a strong knowledge
base. Our comprehensive academic
curriculum, based on U.S. National
Standards, ensures that every student is
intellectually challenged. The educational
experience at Busan Foreign School fosters
intellectual, social, emotional, and
physical growth. Nearly 100% of our
graduates continue their education at some
of the most prestigious universities in the
world. Recent graduates have gone on to
attend Berkeley, Michigan State University,
University of Houston, Purdue
University, New York University,
Penn State University, University of North
Carolina, and the University of California
San Diego to name a few. As such, we expect
our graduates to become responsible
citizens, and leaders in the global
community, as well as life-long learners.
Busan Foreign School¡¯s broad
curricular and co-curricular program
includes interscholastic activities, both
academic and athletic. BFS offers many
after school programs, such as soccer,
basketball, cross-country,
tennis, ESL, dance, music, art, guitar,
orchestra, after school TOEFL preparation, after school SAT
preparation, and an elementary sports club. The school
participates in an interscholastic league,
the South Korean Athletic Conference (SKAC),
fielding competitive middle and high school
sports teams, as well as a model U.N. and
science fair where BFS students are well
represented. BFS also provide many
opportunities for student leadership
training and development. Student council
and the National Honors Society members act as
agents of change in the school organizing
social events, fundraising, and volunteer
efforts to help the school and wider
community.
I highly encourage parents
and stakeholders to take part in our
community. You play an essential role in
your child¡¯s education. Thus, the invitation
is always open for you to visit the school
and take part in your child¡¯s educational
experience.
Thank you for choosing us,
and we look forward to your visit!
Sincerely,
¡¡
